Identify workflows and rapidly architect functionality.

User Flows and UX Blocking are used in the preliminary stages of a project to quickly understand how a user will go through your system and to rapidly create a concept of a solution. Blocking, which has less fidelity than Wireframes, is used to illustrate how a user or actor interacts within the system. UX Blocking is a lot like the blocking of a movie scene where you work out the details of an actor’s movements in relation to the camera (i.e., system). It is through UX Blocking that the team can quickly identify functional and navigational gaps in an approach all without having to manage higher fidelity wireframes. UX Blocking helps to:

  • Quickly concept and iterate on an approach to a build
  • Rapidly test user journeys based on feature requirements
  • Present early structural and workflow concepts to teams quickly
  • Helps determine what feature is important and takes priority

Core UX/UI Deliverables

  • Rapid ideation of unknowns
  • I.D. key features/functionality
  • I.D. user jorneys/workflows
  • Semblance of sanity early in the projects life-cycle 😏
